Pröll - NoriCure MPF Series

Application Area:
NoriCure® MPF is a UV-curing screen printing ink designed for printing on rigid PVC, self-adhesive PVC films, polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC), and pre-treated polyester (PET) surfaces. The suitability of NoriCure® MPF for other materials, such as polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and polypropylene (PP), should be determined through proper and sufficient testing.

Features:

  • Excellent flexibility and formability, such as thermoplastic forming or high-pressure forming
  • Superior adhesion to various plastic surfaces
  • High gloss
  • Easy processability (ready-to-use formulation for printing)
  • Unlimited stencil open time
  • Excellent adhesion to UV and solvent-based screen printing inks
  • Free of NVP and NVC
  • Solvent-free

Mesh:
Polyester meshes between 150 and 180 (380 to 460 threads/inch) are suitable.

Stencil:
UV ink and solvent-resistant emulsions should be used. Excellent results during long production runs can be obtained with Pröll emulsion Norikop 11.

Squeegee:
Squeegees should have an average hardness between 75° and 80° Shore.

Top Coat Varnish:
NoriCure® MPF 093 is recommended for printing over NoriCure® MPF prints and for printing on rigid PVC, self-adhesive PVC films, polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC), and pre-treated polyester (PET) surfaces.
The suitability of NoriCure® MPF for other materials, such as polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and polypropylene (PP), should be determined through proper and sufficient testing.

Auxiliary Materials:
NoriCure® MPF is ready for printing. The following auxiliaries are available for special processing or application conditions:

  • Thinner NoriCure® MPF 090: Can be added up to 5% to reduce viscosity.
  • Mixing Varnish: NoriCure® MPF 092 is used to open basic colors and increase transparency. It can be mixed with NoriCure® MPF Basic Colors.
  • Process Paste NoriCure® MPF 099: Used to adjust color intensity. NoriCure® MPF 099 can be added to increase the viscosity of NoriCure® MPF inks if necessary.
  • Adhesion Promoter NoriCure® HV-F: Can be used to improve adhesion to various plastic surfaces. Approximately 10% can be added.
  • Adhesion Promoter NoriCure® HV-M: Can be used to improve adhesion to metal, wood, or other plastic surfaces. Approximately 5% can be added.

UV Curing:
Guideline: For curing NoriCure® MPF ink layers printed with 150-31 Y mesh (380 NO), approximately 200 to 400 mJ/cm² UV dose (Kühnast UV-Integrator, spectral range: UV 250 – 410 nm, max. 365 nm) is required. The required UV dose depends on the color tone, ink layer thickness (mesh count), and substrate type and color. The dose should be adjusted according to these parameters for sufficient curing.

Post-Curing:
Printed NoriCure® MPF ink layers should be post-cured even without UV light. Optimal product characteristics are not achieved until the curing process is complete (approximately 24-48 hours).

Processing:
Open ink containers or ink on stencils should be protected from direct sunlight!

Screen and Equipment Cleaning:
UNI-REIN A III or UNI-CLEANER FP61 can be used.
